Recommended by local friends and did not disappoint! This is authentic, fresh, made in house food. We loved the historic building, hosting this quaint but vibrant place. I would make the 45 minute trip any day just for the guacamole and chips alone.

Oh my God, how have I not found this place before?? The food is excellent. My wife had the biggest chimichunga I've ever seen. I can't remember the name if what I had but it was beyond wonderful. The complimentary chips and sala is very good, but unlike any salsa I've ever had. We will definitely be coming back. Edit: They now (10/24) have guacamole and it is phenomenal!
We have been going to La Caretta Rosa weekly and we look forward to it each time! My husband orders the Caretta special every visit. The Modelo Michelada is his favorite drink to order, while I order a Bloody Mary. The Mexican style tacos are fantastic, excellent fajitas, as are the enchiladas. The Mexican style guacamole is the best we have had, & we frequently pick it up to go in addition to ordering it on each visit. Victors Sr & Jr as well as Roberto provide fantastic service. Don’t miss this authentic & delicious local experience!
We tried the enchilada lunch special, which came with your choice of 3 enchiladas, beans and rice for 8.99. Not only was the price excellent, the meal was absolutely delicious! I can't wait to try more of the menu!
This restaurant is in a historic building. The best Mexican food I've had in years. Very authentic. However, if you like, you can order it more on the American side. I wouldn't suggest it though. Everything from the chips and salsa that they give you as complimentary before your meal, to the entire meal was utterly delicious. The gentleman, Felix, was pleasant, helpful and very attentive. Good food, good service; what more could you ask for? I'm definitely going to make this a regular spot. They are open everyday except Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. to 8:05 p.m. They've been in business there for over 20 years. The place is humble and homey.
